Enfindus is preparing for the next step in the development of renewable energy. In order to achieve Europe's climate targets by 2030 and 2050, a simple method of storing renewable energy is necessary. Renewable energy is unfortunately not always generated at the times when the demand for electricity is greatest, which is why storage of electricity in a carrier is recommended.
Power to Gas
Enfindus wants to contribute to a 100 % switch to renewable energy. Enfindus is studying various options for converting the electricity generated in large solar power installations on land in southern areas into a carrier of energy. Hydrogen and ammonia seem to be the most appropriate chemical components to achieve this. Ammonia has a slight preference for hydrogen because of its transportability.
Power to Chemicals
Enfindus is involved in research with other organizations to convert electricity into other chemically high-quality products, the so-called 'Power to Chemicals' sector. A number of promising pilot projects are in the pipeline, and this industry will experience strong growth over the next 5-10 years.
